Hearing Evaluations
A comprehensive hearing evaluation begins with gathering information about your ear and hearing history as well as the present difficulties you are experiencing.
An otoscopic examination of the outer ear and eardrum is followed by a comprehensive evaluation of the middle and inner ear. Pure tone testing assesses hearing ability across frequencies while speech testing helps determine how well words are understood when presented at an audible level.
Hearing Consultations
Hearing test results are explained and interpreted in terms of communication impact, such as the ability to successfully socialize and maintain important interpersonal and/or work relationships. If you have a hearing loss, treatment options are reviewed.
Sometimes results indicate the need for a medical referral to a primary care doctor or an ENT physician. But for most people hearing aids are often the best option and they can be helpful in alleviating tinnitus as well.
